Meredith E. Drench Lecture: "Start Here: Getting Real About Social Determinants of Health"

The 2019 Meredith E. Drench Lecture will be presented by Dr. Donald Berwick, president emeritus and senior fellow at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and a former administrator at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. A reception will follow in the Sargent College Setterberg Lounge, 2nd floor. The Meredith E. Drench Lectureship Fund, Sargent College’s first endowed lecture series, was established by physical therapy alumna Meredith E. Drench, PhD, PT to share her passion and belief in the “compassionate rehabilitation” of the whole person. A behavioral specialist, Drench’s work bridged the fields of physical rehabilitation and psychosocial behavioral sciences. This lecture series honors the legacy of Dr. Drench and continues her mission of education and advocacy, focusing on the psychosocial aspects of rehabilitation.
