{"id":9493,"date":"2023-11-14T09:01:19","date_gmt":"2023-11-14T14:01:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/photonics\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=9493"},"modified":"2023-11-14T09:01:19","modified_gmt":"2023-11-14T14:01:19","slug":"ben-linville-engler","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/photonics\/profile\/ben-linville-engler\/","title":{"rendered":"Ben Linville-Engler"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Ben Linville-Engler is the Chief Investment Strategist and Program Executive at MassTech where he works across the agency\u2019s divisions, funds, and programs to align investments with ecosystems needs, emerging technologies, and sector priorities in the Commonwealth\u2019s technology and innovation economy.\u00a0 Ben provides organizational oversight for the agency\u2019s Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CAM), MassCyberCenter, and the Massachusetts eHealth Institute (MeHI).\u00a0 Ben currently serves as the Acting Director for the Northeast Microelectronics Coalition (NEMC) Hub which was recently selected for a Dept. of Defense Microelectronics Commons Hub with funding coming from the CHIPS+Science Act.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Previously, he served as the Industry and Certificate Co-Director for MIT System Design and Management (SDM), where he first joined as a Fellow in 2016.\u00a0 He was awarded MIT&#8217;s 2021 Collier Medal for COVID-19 response efforts with the MA Manufacturing Emergency Response Team.\u00a0 Prior to MIT, Ben worked for over a decade at Applied Medical, serving in Vice President roles for technology and product development, as well as engineering.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado \u2013 Boulder with and emphasis in Biomedical Engineering and a Minor in Biochemistry, and received a Master of Science degree in Engineering and Management from MIT through SDM.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":22337,"template":"","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/photonics\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/9493"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/photonics\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/photonics\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/profile"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/photonics\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/22337"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/photonics\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/9493\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":9496,"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/photonics\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/profile\/9493\/revisions\/9496"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/photonics\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=9493"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
