The program is run with several other REU programs and includes mentoring and professional development as well as laboratory research. The PURSuE REU program is for rising seniors with some photonics experience, who seek an introduction to graduate research opportunities at BU.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/photonics\/files\/2024\/01\/Sharayu-and-Arohi-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" class=\" wp-image-9745 aligncenter\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/photonics\/files\/2024\/01\/Sharayu-and-Arohi-2.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/photonics\/files\/2024\/01\/Sharayu-and-Arohi-2-650x433.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/photonics\/files\/2024\/01\/Sharayu-and-Arohi-2-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/photonics\/files\/2024\/01\/Sharayu-and-Arohi-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/photonics\/files\/2024\/01\/Sharayu-and-Arohi-2-1536x1024.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>PURSuE participants:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Receive a $7,000 stipend plus travel and housing for on-campus participation.<br \/>\n\u2022 Engage in active research at a BU Photonics Center lab in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/photonics\/research\/research-areas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" style=\"color: #333399; text-decoration: underline;\">research areas<\/a><\/span><\/span> including but not limited to biophotonics, nanophotonics, photonic materials and devices, neurophotonics, and lasers, nonlinear optics, and quantum photonics.
