Photonics Center Community Featured Across SPIE’s Photonics West 2026 Conference

Last week, SPIE held it’s annual “Photonics West” conference, bringing together researchers and experts across the varying fields of optics and photonics research. With over a hundred conferences, plenary events, and presentations, several Boston University Photonics and Neurophotonics Center faculty––and graduate students––were not only in attendance, but led several key talks.

Plenary Events:

Irving Bigio (Award Winner & Speaker) | 2026 Britton Chance Biomedical Optics Award + “An Odd Journey: From Laser Nuclear Fusion to Clinical Application of Optical Science”

Darren Roblyer (Presenter) | Biophotoncis Focus: Light-Based Technologies for Reproductive, Maternal, and Neonatal Health

Michelle Sander (Presenter) | Pulses of Innovation: Ultrafast Fiber Lasers

Conferences:

Thomas Bifano & Lei Tian, et al (Chairs) Adaptive Optics and Wavefront Control for Biological Systems XII

Ji-Xin Cheng, et al (Chairs)Advanced Chemical Microscopy for Life Science and Translational Medicine
