Her time as an REU at Boston University was her first research experience beyond the classroom, and wants to pursue a graduate degree following undergrad.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/photonics-programs\/2025\/09\/18\/hao\/\"><strong>Engineering microenvironment-triggered self-reporting immunotherapy:<\/strong><\/a> Vanessa&#8217;s project, working alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/hao-lab.org\/\"><strong>Liang Hao<\/strong><\/a> in the Hao lab, <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was to develop a precision-targeted plasmid that enhances cancer immunotherapy while enabling real-time, non-invasive monitoring through molecular cloning<\/span>. She was mentored by <strong>Dr. Feiyang Deng<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>&#8220;<span>I think my favorite part of lab this summer was being in a new field of STEM.
