I\u2019m also the Director of the Women\u2019s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"\">I received my Ph.D. in Philosophy in 2005 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I also received a graduate degree in Women\u2019s Studies from Duke University. Before coming to Boston University, I was an Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Women\u2019s Studies at Tulane University of New Orleans. My research focuses on early modern political thought. My first book,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/core\/books\/hobbes-on-resistance\/DF4B526F1952CA95368C22568521C23E\"><em class=\"\"><span class=\"\">Hobbes on Resistance: Defying the Leviathan<\/span><\/em><\/a><span class=\"\">, came out with Cambridge University Press in 2010.
