Graduate Student Zara Amdur awarded BUCH Graduate Dissertation Fellowship
The department wishes warm congratulations to Zara Amdur, who has been selected by the BU Center for the Humanities Executive Committee to receive a Graduate Dissertation Fellowship for the 2022-2023 academic year!
The Graduate Dissertation Fellowship will fund a semester of Zara’s dissertation research and the opportunity to meet with other Fellows in the BUCH’s Fellows Seminar. Zara’s selection was based on a nomination from the Department of Philosophy and an application based on her work on her dissertation. The Fellowships allow for an immersive focus on graduate dissertation work with academic, financial, and peer support.
Zara is a seventh-year graduate student in the dual-degree program, where she will receive an MA in Classical Studies and a Ph.D. in Philosophy. Her dissertation is titled, “Women and Metaphors of Sexual Reproduction in Plato.” In addition to her work in the department, Zara also teaches in BU’s Writing Program.
Congratulations and good luck with your dissertation research, Zara!
