Postdoc Academy
We heard your feedback about delivering professional development programming online, and we listened. PDPA at BU is excited to offer a grant-funded program in collaboration with Northwestern University, Michigan State University, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison: The Postdoc Academy.
The Postdoc Academy is a comprehensive digital and in-person professional development program available to postdocs nationwide. This program offers several opportunities and resources, free of charge, including:
- Asynchronous Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) via edX: Succeeding as a Postdoc and Building Skills for a Successful Career
- Open educational materials
- In-person and virtual workshops
- Supported learning communities (see information below)
During offerings of the first online course, Succeeding as a Postdoc, learners can join an optional institutional- or discipline-focused Postdoc Academy Learning Session (PALS). These learning communities enhance online learning by connecting content directly to the postdocs’ local context and community, and promote deeper reflection of the material. PALS are small groups of postdocs who meet once per week in-person or virtually throughout the six-week course.
Please visit the Postdoc Academy website for the most up-to-date information, and follow us on Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. We look forward to our postdoc community participating in this program!
