{"id":193,"date":"2010-07-03T16:43:50","date_gmt":"2010-07-03T20:43:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pasi\/?page_id=193"},"modified":"2019-07-05T12:55:27","modified_gmt":"2019-07-05T16:55:27","slug":"jaydeep-bardhan","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pasi\/people\/jaydeep-bardhan\/","title":{"rendered":"Jaydeep Bardhan, PhD"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-194\" src=\"\/pasi\/files\/2010\/07\/JayBardhan200x200.png\" alt=\"JayBardhan200x200\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pasi\/files\/2010\/07\/JayBardhan200x200.png 200w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pasi\/files\/2010\/07\/JayBardhan200x200-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/h2>\n<h2>About the speaker<\/h2>\n<p>Jaydeep Bardhan received his BSc, MEng, and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology\u00a0(MIT) in 2000, &#8217;01, and &#8217;06, respectively. \u00a0As a doctoral student he was the\u00a0recipient of a Computational Science Graduate Fellowship award from\u00a0the US Department of Energy (DOE).<\/p>\n<p>In 2006, Dr Bardhan became the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcs.anl.gov\/research\/opportunities\/wilkinsonfellow\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">Wilkinson Fellow in Scientific Computing<\/a> at the Mathematics and Computer Science\u00a0division of DOE&#8217;s Argonne National Lab, and in 2007 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hpcwire.com\/offthewire\/17901389.html\" target=\"_blank\">he was named a\u00a0Frederick A. Howes Scholar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2008, Dr. Bardhan moved to the Biosciences\u00a0division at Argonne, and in 2009 he joined the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.phys.rush.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Department of Molecular\u00a0Biophysics <\/a>and Physiology and the Department of Internal Medicine at\u00a0Rush University Medical Center (Chicago, IL) as an Assistant\u00a0Professor.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Bardhan&#8217;s research is focused on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>computational methods for the analysis\u00a0and design of biological molecules<\/li>\n<li>protein study using wide-angle X-ray solution scattering (WAXS)<\/li>\n<li>simulation of biomolecular electrostatics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Sample publications<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Bounding the electrostatic free energies associated with linear continuum models of molecular solvation, J.
