PARTISAN REVIEW
Kazimierz Wyka!
If
you and several other people of good faith and
sound mind do not put a stop to this, it will be too late.
It
is no time to
be shuffling around inside the chalk circle. The circle is already cracking.
Will it be a bright butterfly soaring over the earth
Or a moth, dirty tribe of the night?
It
seems it will be a Romantic moth. For Poles, whatever is Roman–
tic is pretty, great, patriotic, national, universal-by its very nature . Just
one more moment and they wil l become entangled in a web of lies, like
the emigres, in a slightly different, leftist-nationalist mode, which, in the
final analysis, makes no difference. Kazimierz Wyka, this is the last pos–
si ble moment.
