about Kaganovich, Yaroslavsky (a.k.a. Gubelman), Ginzburg the
architect. These men are singled out not for being Bolsheviks
seriously involved with the struggle against "nests of clerical reac–
tion," but because they are all Jews . The pamyatniks also conve–
niently forget to mention in this context the native Russian wreck–
ers: Head of Government Rykov, All-Union Alderman Papa
Kalinin, "First Red Officer" Voroshilov, Khrushchev who unex–
pectedly went berserk over religion in the post-Stalin era. Needless
to say, the pamyatniks don't include in this roster their major idol,
Lenin (Lenin-worshipping is something they have in common with
the Komsomol), even though no other leader in history has ever led
a more virulent anticlerical campaign!
In all fairness, anti-Semitism has never been a part of pure
Bolshevism in its open form . In 1953 Bolshevism was preparing to

moment into the meeting hall floats the white angel of Vladimir 11-
yich Lenin who, as Losoto herself will confirm, has nothing to do
with the devil and even less to do with rock-and-roll.
After this, the impressive Sabbath-bashing meeting continues,
and our journalist picks up the thread of her story. But she's still
holding something back. There are some obscure references to the

dreams or reality? There's reference to illegally taped
conversations-whose? The question is asked, who will win under
perestroika?
Some discuss the existence of Zionist-Masonic plots and
secret signals , in particular an item of children's clothing decorated
with a crescent-shaped ornament. The moon, of course, is aJewish
emblem. Still others suggest that if you hold certain newspapers up
to the light you'll see an ominous pattern in the shape of a scull .
Someone claims that in an article on Chernobyl he discerned the
hidden subtitle, "This Should Become a Tradition." The enemies ap–
parently use all kinds of schemes to disseminate their various sym-
