informative talk. This is the first time , for example , I have heard
that French intellectuals like the working conditions of American
universities so much more than their own. I used to think that
American intellectuals were much more politically advanced than
the French, but after your discussion of the French intellectual
scene , one has to wonder whether the tides have not turned in both
countries .
