Editor's Notes
Angel Cuadro, whose poems appeared in our #4 1981 issue, has been a
political prisoner in Cuba since 1967, publishing several volumes of his
poems outside Cuba. Upon publication of A Correspondence of Poems
(From Jail) in 1979, he was transferred to the remote and inhuman prison
of Boniato, where he remains, isolated from outside contact.
The interview with Jan Kavan, which appeared in the #11982 issue, is an
abridged version of one broadcast over Station WBAI in New York, under
the sponsorship of the group Europe-In-Formation. Jan Kavan was an
editor and student activist during the Prague Spring. Living now in exile
in London , he is director of the Palach Press.
.
The correct title of Frank Conroy's novel mentioned in the #11982 Con–
tributors' Notes is Stop-Time.
