LOVE SONG
For love one must risk
everything (it has been said
before)-one must risk every thing–
one's faith, one's hope, one's
sanity, one's pride, one's very
life, one's fate-as the
poet must sometimes (you will
not buy this comparison) get
out of bed and begin
to write the poem down,
or it is lost forever.
Everything for love! And if
one loses in that desperate
country, there is always the
shocking slime of life, the
grave earth beneath one's feet!
Or one can take the
fact of one's feet, and
continue to search for love,
unless one is
!iO
old
one cannot walle Either way,
one must die for love.
