TO MARCH
You repossess your presents
to lay them freshly open
in a constant give
of lame to firm,
cold to soft.
Snow
downs thick
in the overnight wake
of wind that cut
the last
thaw,
and covers patching and melting now
until a panic of clouds once more
will darken over before they part
the turn of surfaces to bare
your crystal blue
light that dares
time over time
to cast itself
away.

THE ALIEN
The armature of her dismay survived
the disaster in Halifax.
It
requires no polishing.
We've hung a proliferation of archaic verbs
like Christmas bulbs
along her tubes
&
over the mesh-like grids. The effect
fragile as the idea of generation.
