want to write about, like 1933 . Not designs for other poems, but certainly
great areas that I want to explore with poetry . This was true with
They Feed
They Lion.
I often write on more than one poem at a time .
Int:
You seem to be prolific. Are you?
Levine:
Well , it's very different from one occasion to another. Sometimes
poems come very quickly , in a great rush, and they're just there. I've
written as much as a couple of hundred lines in a day, lines that I've saved
and still like a lot . The longest poem I've ever written I wrote in about two
days, and it's almost 400 lines . So at times I am very prolific.
Int :
You have 1933 coming out inJanuary . And then you're going to Spain in
the spring, is that right?
Levine:
Europe .
Int:
Is that strictly for writing? Do you have something set , planned that you
want to work on over there?
Levine:
Oh , it's complicated . It 's for a number of reasons.
Int :
OK. Thank you.
Levine :
Sure .
