Edited by Stuart Curran and Joseph Anthony Wittreich, Jr.

Blake's vision of a fl:lture generation's
acce'J!)tance of his work has never been
realized more fully than it has in the
last twenty-five years -and, yet. wh ile
we seek to unravel his system, we
easily lose sight of Blake's broad appeal
to these " future generations" who have
rediscovered him.
In presenting this collection of
fifteen original essays on Blake's
still-neglected masterpieces, the editors
hope to assist in altering our
perspective of Blake and his work, by
offering a multitude of interpretations
from which we can construct a critical
basis for the major prophecies at once
stable and varied, This collection, to be
published in the autumn of 1972, will
be
of significant intellectual value to all
Blake scholars and to their students.
