In response to the needless slaughter and unwarranted repression of the civil liberties
of students,
Blac~
people and peaceful protesters by police and National Guardsmen,
the ACLU has launched OPERATION CONFRONTATION. This national program aims
to protect dissenters by establishing guidelines for officials dealing with demonstrators
and by prosecuting those who engage in illegal law enforcement. Encourage support
of the constitutional right to dissent by supporting OPERATION CONFRONTATION.
