The Houghton Mifflin
Literary Fellowship
IS deSIgned to help authors complete litem,),
projects in fiction and non-fiction.
It
is the oldest publisher-sponsored
award of its kind, and has made a substantial contribution to American
letters. Since these fellowships were tirst established in
1935,
they have
enabled more than thirty-five new writers to establish their literary
careers, and have introduced to American readers many distinguished
