MODERN LITERATURE
The Department of English announces the Fourth Buffalo
Summer Program in Modern Literature, June 26-August 4. A
distinguished staff offers both graduate and undergraduate courses
in literature, criticism, poetic and creative writing. In addition to
regular faculty of the State University of New York at Buffalo, a
distinguished visiting faculty will include :

LITERATURE

SOCIETY
The first program in literature and society will be offered in
the 1967 Summer Session. The program will feature organized
courses as well as a symposium scheduled for the week of July
10.
The symposium will focus on the interrelation of literature and the
arts in general on the one hand and the larger cultures on the .other.
This program is organized jointly by the Departments of
English and Sociology. Distinguished scholars from abroad will
participate with the cooperation of the Center for Comparative
European Studies. Professor Leslie Fiedler of the Department of
English will serve as the program coordinator.
