The Free Press of Glencoe will publish The Political Dilemma
of
American Capitalism, STEPHEN ROUSSEAS' new book. Mr. Rousseas
teaches economics at NYU.... SIDNEY GOLDFARB is having his poetry
published for the first time in this issue of PR, and EDWARD BRASH
and MICHAEL FRIED for the first time in America. Mr. Goldfarb
gnaduated this spring from Harvard, and has been, he tells us, "mllil
clerk in vitamin factory, roofer, plumber, leather-necker, cab-driver." Mr.
Brash studies classical Greek at NYU and works as an editorial researcher.
Mr. Fried, a Juni'Or Fellow at Harvard, studies art history and writes
art criticism. Appetites, a pamphlet of his poems, was put out in England
last year.... Atlantic-Little, Brown just published JOHN MALCOLM
BRINNIN's Selected Poems. Mr. Brinnin teaches English at BU...•
SANDRA HOCHMAN just completed her third book of poems and is
working 'On a novel. The Kornblee Gallery exhibited a oollection of Miss
Hochman's Poems-Collages this June.... RICHARD TILLINGHAST is
finishing graduate work in English at 'Harvard. His specialty is Renaissance.
. . . DANIEL HOFFMAN will lecture this summe,r at the Internationlll
School of Yeats Studies in Sligo, Ireland.... GERALD MALANGA, who
writes regularly for Kulchur, tells us that "since 1963 he has been Andy
Warhol's apprentice." ... JOSEPH FRANK has just returned from France,
where he's been working 'On a book about Dostoevsky. He'll be teaching
at Harvard for the spring term next year.... "The Anatomy of a Poet"
is the first section of ALAN FRIEDMAN's new novel. . . . GEORGE
L1CHTHEIM is currently Visiting Lecturer in European history at Stlln–
ford. . . . The Wreck of the Thresher, WILLIAM MEREDITH's fourth
book 'Of poems, appeared last year. Mr. Meredith teaches creative
writing at Connecticut College and writes us that this summer he is
"directing a summer school for (primarily) Negro high school students."
... RICHARD OHMANN, author of Shaw: the Style and the Man, is
writing a book on theoory of style. He teaches English and linguistics
