Charles T. Davis)
Essays, which must be no longer than 6,000 words,
should be submitted before August 1, 1965, to Pro–
fessor R. W.
B.
Lewis (American Studies Program, Yale
University, New Haven, Conn.), the chairman of the
1965 session.
The prize-winning essays
will
be read by their authors
at the 1965 session of the Institute and published
in
the
Institute's annual volume.
The Supervising Committee of the English Institute
reserves the right to award no prizes if,
in
its judgement,
none of the essays is of sufficient quality.
