THE POETRY CENTER AWARD FOR A FIRST BOOK OF VERSE
The Poetry Center of the YM-YWHA, with the co-operation of Harper
&
Bros., announces
the opening of a contest for the Poetry Center Award, which will be publication of the winning
manuscript. Open to anyone writing in English who has not previously published a book of
verse, it does not exclude those who have had occasional verses published in magazines or
anthologies. The judges will be: W. H. Auden, Marianne Moore, and Staphen Spender. Manu–
scripts should be submitted before November 30, 1956.
