RESURRECTION
"After death soul is a nude form
crying for its matter!'
-THOMAS AQUINAS
When you are dead to the sun
And the earth has changed your shape,
When the dark fields wear your flesh
And the sea swells to these lands,
I will come when evenings breathe
Sudden and sharp with desire,
When the long day ends with fire
And harvests lie in your hands.
Single with
grief,
as the moon
Draws agate from sleeping eyes,
My sense will receive your form
And the dead waters will rise.
And our flesh will then be whole,
Form shielding form from decay,
Two bodies to share one soul,
And flesh will not fall away.
Substantial souls from their parts
Draw being, as from the
air,
Returning into our hearts
We find our perfection there.
And birds will burst from the com
At the heart of those ancient lands,
When the
grain
flares in the dark
And harvests lie in your hands.
