From their homes
Into homeless dreams.

Sparrow Spare,
o
beckonings above the dark
Bents of the body, calls calls.
But we are our callers:
Out of each one's unsinging power, lack,
His hankering hews a park, a hall,
A mouth from another's noise.
And death evades between the chartered lungs
We choose,
And even vogue's tongue
Lags behind the news.

NOW YOU ,REMEMBERINGNIGHTS AWAKE
Now you remembering nights awake.
Let recall your history and your dimmed
Encounters. Within the hour
Those sweet ferns let fall
Their leaves and all the unencumbered
Fragrance bring to solace earth
Wherein you sang. Replace, absolve, take
Cognizance of other loves, other graves
Whose wounds leap the long nightfalls.
Horned in this constructed warmth
Your breath make spires
Of those respectful cathedrals.
Nor must you once remembering form
Take from that last reporting rib
Easing on your dual body.
The skeletal be natural
In
its essence, unenclosed
