We are reproducing above the only photographs ever taken of murals by
J oan
~Iiro.
They were executed in the home of Paul Nelson, American archi–
tect, at Varangeville on the Channel coast, in 1938. According to reports, the
walls of the house were knocked out when the Germans recently converted it
into a stable. Thus Miro's only mural work has presumably been destroyed.
