Deaf Space is a forum showcasing and sharing the various contributions the Deaf World makes to our lives and to human development. It’s a space for a Deaf-centered way of being, where communities can come together in ways that promote thoughtful, respectful, and creative interactions, and acknowledge the important roles the Deaf World plays throughout Boston University as well as throughout New England.

Shira Grabelsky: By way of a New York upbringing and having lived in all time zones in the U.S. except for CST, Shira returns to Boston and to her alma mater! Coming from Santa Fe, New Mexico where she works at the New Mexico School for the Deaf, Shira lis excited to navigate and be in the Deaf Space (event) as a Deaf Disabled woman.

Selena Minogue and Casavina are the fabulous comedians duo in Deafies in Drag show. They are both Deaf, Latinx, and Queer Drag Queens who perform and create shows for Youtube and Facebook. The show talks about Deaf’s struggles, language barriers, and educating the life of Deaf community through comedy.
