The Dark Races of the Pacific World

Come out to hear Professor Edlie L. Wong give a talk on "The Dark Races of the Pacific World: Reading Race, Immigration, and Empire in Pauline Hopkins and The Colored American Magazine." Edlie Wong is a Professor of English and Director of the Center for Literary and Comparative Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, and her research interests include 19th-century American, African American, and Asian American literatures, law and literature, the black Atlantic, and critical race studies.
