City Planning and Urban Affairs Guest Speaker: John Miller, Senior Vice-President, Macpherson Energy

John Miller, Senior Vice-President, Macpherson Energy, an independent (family owned) oil, gas, and alternative energy, will be guest lecturing in City Planning and Urban Affairs' UA 510: Sustainable Energy Planning course. Mr. Miller's topics include, Case Study: Community Engagement and Local Power Plant Construction and Operation and Case Study: Transforming Energy Supply -- Biomass Power Production and Biomass Fuels Development (Liquid, Gas, and Solid). Mr. Miller has had prior Executive roles at Calpine Energy (largest natural gas power production company), Pacific Ethanol (ethanol production and trading company), Thermo Ecotek, a diversified non-regulated electrical power producer in the US and Europe, and Onsite Energy, a PacifiCorp company (independent power, remote power solutions, biomass power). Also, Mr. Miller serves as a guest lecturer at Oregon State University’s School of Engineering Leadership Program.
