The 3rd entry of the XIX Ibero-American Film Festival. From Brazil, directed by Joao Moreira Salles 2003 A film about a man and his music - portrays the most internationally recognized Brazilian pianist from his youth as a child prodigy to his rise to international acclaim. The film was conceived as a mosaic, a collection of relatively independent pieces. It consists of 31 thematic blocks which, in principle, could be assembled in any given order. There is no intent to tell a story with concrete beginning, middle, and end. It is only through the music of Nelson Freire that sense may be found.
