Cooking Up Culture: Summer Program for Kids

  • Starts: 9:00 am on Wednesday, July 9, 2014
  • Ends: 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 9, 2014
Children who like being in the kitchen will love our week-long class exploring the world’s most beloved cuisines. We’ll begin with kitchen basics and French techniques, and then move on to the Mediterranean as we cook our way through Spain, Morocco, Greece, Italy, and Turkey. Finally, we’ll traverse the globe to Asia, and then home to America to focus on regional cuisine. We’ll wrap up each day by enjoying a delicious lunch prepared by the class. Young cooks will learn basics in kitchen safety, proper food handling, food preparation, cooking and baking techniques, presentation, and understanding recipes—as well as valuable culinary skills that they will use for the rest of their lives.
