World AIDS Week 2013 at BU

The HIV/AIDS epidemic is a real issue in the United States, and the World AIDS Day at Boston University presents an opportunity to educate college students about safe sex and the dangers of HIV/AIDS. Each year, the Community Service Center's Project Hope plans and executes the Worlds AIDS Day at Boston University. During the week, the program organizes free rapid HIV testing, facilitates conversation on the issue and its impacts, provides educational information and host a special gender-neutral pageant show to test students upon their knowledge about public health and HIV/AIDS. The purpose of all these events is to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and Public Health throughout the Boston University campus. We are hosting several events during this week: - Free rapid HIV testing: Tuesday - Thursday from 11am - 5pm. Sign up at the GSU Link table - Tuesday (Dec 3, 2013): Education night at 7pm at the Room of Requirement on the 4th floor of the GSU (the CSC Office). We will be watching the documentary "Positive Youth", and having 2 guest speakers from the New England Association on HIV over Fifties (NEAOHF). - Thursday (Dec 5, 2013): The Public Health show at 7pm in the Law Auditorium. We present the first ever Public Health Pageant Show during World AIDS Week. Contestants will be tested on their knowledge of public health and HIV/AIDS to raise awareness of these important issues. Plus, there will be many non-profit organizations from the greater Boston area present on the night of the event. All are welcome - bring your friends! Throughout the week, condoms, lubricants, and red ribbons will be distributed for free at the GSU Link table to raise awareness upon HIV/AIDS.
