Boston Musica Viva "Role-Play"

  • Starts: 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 24, 2013
  • Ends: 5:00 pm on Sunday, March 24, 2013
Composers depart from typical styles and instrumentation in “Role-Play”. In Currier’s virtuosic Vocalissimus, soprano Zorana Sadiq plays the roles of satirist, mystic, miser and more in 18 different settings of one Wallace Stevens poem. The unusual pairing of flute and percussion receives clever treatment in Child’s Duo for Flute and Percussion. Carter experiments with the softer side of brass instruments in a chamber setting in Double Trio. Celebrated opera composer Judith Weir brings her theatrical compositional style to chamber music in the world-premiere Blue-Green Hill. To purchase, visit website bmv.org.
