Pardee School of Global Studies<span>\u00a0<\/span>at Boston University, specializing in the study of political economy of security. Her book<span>\u00a0<\/span><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cornellpress.cornell.edu\/book\/9781501702495\/how-states-pay-for-wars\/#bookTabs=1\">How States Pay for Wars<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>(Ithaca, NY: Cornell University Press, 2016) won the 2017 American Political Science Association\u00a0Robert L. Jervis and Paul W. Schroeder Best Book Award in International History and Politics.<span>\u00a0<\/span>She recently published<span>\u00a0<\/span><em><a href=\"https:\/\/academic.oup.com\/book\/60543\">Wheat at War: Allied Economic Cooperation in the Great War<\/a><\/em><span>\u00a0<\/span>(Oxford University Press, 2025).<span>\u00a0<\/span>Her other works can be found in\u00a0<em>Conflict Management and Peace Science<\/em>,\u00a0<em>European Journal of International Relations<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Journal of Global Security Studies<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Journal of Peace Research<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Security Studies,<\/em>\u00a0as well as\u00a0<em>Foreign Affairs<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Texas National Security Review<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>War on the Rocks<\/em>. She has held fellowships at the Dickey Center for International Understanding at Dartmouth College and<span>\u00a0<\/span>the Clements Center for National Security at the University of Texas at Austin. She is a<span>\u00a0<\/span>non-resident fellow at the Brute Krulak Center for Innovation and Creativity at Marine Corps University<span>\u00a0<\/span>and affiliated with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/watson.brown.edu\/costsofwar\/\">Costs of War Project<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to her academic research, she is committed to promoting the study of political economy of national security. She is the founder and Co-Director of Boston University\u2019s Project for the Political Economy of Security.
