This year, a full house of over 55 audience members gathered on April 28th, to enjoy another evening of celebrating language, culture, and creativity.<\/p>\n<p>Students in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/africa\/forstudents\/alp\/\">African Language Program<\/a> took center stage, writing, producing, and performing original skits that showcase their growing proficiency and cultural insight. Widely regarded as a highlight of the year at the ASC, African Theater Night not only highlights students\u2019 achievements across all levels of language study, but also invites the broader community to experience the richness and diversity of African languages and cultures firsthand.<\/p>\n<p>The African Studies Center at Boston University, established in 1953, stands as one of the nation&#8217;s oldest leaders in promoting African language and area studies. As a Title VI National Resource Center funded by the U.S. Department of Education, the Center serves as a hub for excellence in research, learning, and teaching about Africa. More than 100 faculty across 40+ departments engage in Africa-related research and teaching, offering students opportunities across arts, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences to pursue rigorous academic study and research.
