Pardee Professor John D.\u00a0Woodward, Jr.,\u00a0a former Central Intelligence Agency operations officer and U.S. Department of Defense official, has written\u00a0Spying: From the Fall of Jericho to the Fall of the Wall.<\/a><\/p>\n His book is a comprehensive study of the history of intelligence activities from ancient times to the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.\u00a0\u00a0Prof. Woodward pays special attention to the American experience with espionage from the beginning of the Revolutionary War to the end of the Cold War.<\/p>\n Spying draws on the unique experiences and pioneering scholarship of the late Boston University Pardee Professor Arthur Hulnick, who also served as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Air Force and the CIA.\u00a0\u00a0As Prof. Hulnick\u2019s faculty colleague, Woodward has leveraged his own extensive intelligence background in editing and supplementing this work based on Art\u2019s popular lectures.<\/p>\n Spying\u00a0is published by Waynesburg University Press.<\/p>\n John D.
