Pardee School of Global Studies, was interviewed by the Boston Globe about the evacuation order in Gaza.\u00a0 \u00a0The article was published on October 14, 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span> <\/span>Professor Lori expressed her concerns about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;There just is no exit. And in some ways, it\u2019s really hard to conceive of this as anything other than like a death march.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>She highlighted the dire conditions in Gaza, including constant shelling, lack of food, water, electricity, and the absence of safe passage.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Lori also called for the establishment of humanitarian corridors in Gaza to enhance the safety of civilians as they journey from the war zone. She is particularly interested in the study of temporary worker programs and racial hierarchies in comparative perspective. Regionally, her work examines the shifting population movements accompanying state formation in the Persian Gulf, expanding the study of Middle East politics to include historic and new connections with East Africa and the Indian subcontinent. Lori is the Founding Director of the Pardee School Initiative on Forced Migration and Human Trafficking.
