In an interview with Radio and Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina<\/a> (BHRT), Ambassador\u00a0<\/span>Vesko Gar\u010devi\u0107<\/a>, Professor of the Practice of International Relations at Boston University\u2019s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, discussed former President Donald Trump<\/a> and the impact of his criminal arraignment on his campaign strategy for the 2024 presidential election<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Gar\u010devi\u0107 rationalized President Trump’s behavior in the context of the former president’s favorite maxim – all press is good press – in highlighting how he is attempting to take advantage of his difficult position to homogenize his voters, reinforce the support within the Republican establishment<\/a> and reduce room for maneuver of his opponents in the party, particularly Governor Ron DeSantis. Seeking to destroy trust in institutions, challenging the outcome of the presidential elections in 2020, and claiming he is a victim of political persecution, he argued that President Trump wants to position himself as the only candidate who can \u2018repair the damage\u2019, and the current polls confirm it.<\/p>\n Gar\u010devi\u0107 concluded that while many Democrats<\/a> would rather face Trump as the GOP<\/a> presidential nominee, it may be a risky game that could bring him back to the White House.<\/span><\/p>\n
