In an interview with\u00a0<\/span>Business Insider<\/em>,\u00a0<\/span>Kevin Gallagher<\/a>,<\/span>\u00a0Professor of Global Development Policy at Boston University\u2019s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies\u00a0<\/span>and Director of the\u00a0<\/span>Global Development Policy Center<\/a> (GDP Center), discusses the fallout potential hyperinflation in emerging markets and its impacts on the respot of the world.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The article, titled “A major hedge fund fears ‘hyperinflation’ in some developing nations. This is why it could still affect America<\/a>,” explores the statements made in a recent letter to the Financial Times <\/em>editor from Elliot Management that said the world was on the path to “hyperinflation” and the worst economic climate since the end of the second world war. While hyperinflation is not yet upon the world, Gallagher says “the frameworks in place to protect emerging economies from hyperinflation and a debt default were breaking down, leaving countries to fend for themselves.”\u00a0 He also notes that the United States and other developed countries will not be immune to this phenomenon; not acting now would hurt not only the U.S. but the global economic order.<\/p>\n
