On November 1, 2022, the Pardee Graduate Council<\/a> (PGC) hosted a town hall with Scott Taylor<\/a>, Dean of Boston University\u2019s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies and Professor of International Relations.<\/p>\n Pardee School students were able to meet the School’s new dean, ask him questions, and provide feedback about the programs on offer. Questions covered topics ranging from the future of the School to opportunities available for graduate students in and out of the classroom. <\/span><\/p>\n While he’s new to the Pardee School and BU, Dean Taylor’s vision for the future of the School resonated with the audience. He envisions the School as being nimble and easily adaptable in the face of evolving global challenges. Rather than getting too rooted in traditional issues of international relations, Taylor said he wants to build out faculty and degree programs that address new global affairs challenges, flush out and establish more identity for the regional studies tracks, and provide greater career services to Pardee School students.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n For more information on the\u00a0<\/span>PGC<\/a>, their events, and other opportunities, visit their page on the\u00a0<\/span>Pardee School website<\/a>.<\/p>\n Scott Taylor<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>is\u00a0<\/span>among our nation\u2019s most respected scholars in African politics and political economy, with a particular focus on business-state relations, private sector development, governance, and political and economic reform. Prior to coming to BU, Taylor taught at Smith College and most recently at Georgetown University\u2019s School of Foreign Service, where he was also Vice Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. He is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a member of the International Advisory Board for the Southern African Institute for Policy and Research (SAIPAR), and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Endowment for Democracy.
