Pardee School of Global Studies, delivered a keynote address at the Knowledge for Development (K4D) conference hosted by the Institute for Development Studies (Sussex University) and the UK Government\u2019s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/pardeeschool\/files\/2022\/09\/Adil-Najam-K4D1.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/pardeeschool\/files\/2022\/09\/Adil-Najam-K4D1-300x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-54361\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/files\/2022\/09\/Adil-Najam-K4D1-300x300.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/files\/2022\/09\/Adil-Najam-K4D1-150x150.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/files\/2022\/09\/Adil-Najam-K4D1.jpeg 560w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/files\/2022\/09\/Adil-Najam-K4D1-550x550.jpeg 550w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/files\/2022\/09\/Adil-Najam-K4D1-100x100.jpeg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The K4D conference brought together <span>leading international development experts, practitioners, and policymakers including Najam; Melissa Leach, Director of the Institute of Development Studies; K4D Director Jim Woodhill; and many more. Najam delivered a keynote speech and also participated in a panel discussion on &#8220;evidence for action in turbulent times.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In his remarks, Najam stated that the world now finds itself in what he calls the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/tag\/age-of-adaptation\/\">Age of Adaptation<\/a>, meaning climate change is no longer something we can stave off; it is here. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University and was the former Vice-Chancellor of the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). His research focuses on issues of global public policy, especially those related to global climate change, South Asia, Muslim countries, environment and development, and human development.
