On July 28, 2022, Min Ye<\/a>, Associate Professor of International Relations at Boston University\u2019s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, spoke during a <\/span>National Committee on United States-China Relations (NCUSCR) webinar on China’s flagship international infrastructure development policy: the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).<\/span><\/p>\n

The event, titled “Ten Years of China\u2019s Belt and Road: Reflections and Recent Developments<\/a>,” was moderated by Ka Zeng, a professor of political science and director of international and global studies at the University of Arkansas. In her comments, Ye discussed the impact of COVID-19 on BRI implementation, internal support for the policy, as well as competing global policies being developed by the United States and G7. Drawing from her most recent book The Belt Road and Beyond: State-Mobilized Globalization in China: 1998\u20132018<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>Ye also examined how China has changed over the BRI’s ten-year implementation, how it has shaped Chinese foreign policy, and the challenges it faces moving forward.
