In three recent interviews with Radio France Internationale<\/em> <\/a>(RFI), NTN24<\/a>, <\/em>and CNN Chile<\/em>, Jorge Heine<\/a>, Research Professor at Boston University\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies<\/span>, discusses United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In his remarks, Heine argues that the U.S. reaffirming its “unconditional support” of Taiwan and shifting global attention on the island nation shows the degree to which the world finds itself in a Second Cold War. In his comments, Heine elaborates on why the visit has stirred such a ruckus, on why it seems to defy the U.S. One China policy, and what it tells us about the growing U.S.-China tensions.
