Igor Lukes<\/a>, Professor of International Relations and History\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, was interviewed for an Al Jazeera Balkans <\/em>article on the crisis in Ukraine and the path towards resolution.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the article, titled “Bostonski profesor: Ukrajina je vru\u0107 krompir koji Zapad ne \u017eeli u rukama<\/a> (Boston professor: Ukraine is a hot potato that the West does not want in its hands),” Lukes argues that Russia President Vladimir Putin is entirely at fault for the crisis in Ukraine. While the United States and other Western powers have largely ignored in recent decades, Lukes applauded their response to Russian encroachment. That being said, Lukes also states that U.S. President Joe Biden would be better served focusing on domestic issues – COVID-19, rising inflation, and the upcoming elections in November – instead of Ukraine, especially because there is no support for sending American troops to Ukraine.<\/p>\n
