Pardee School of Global Studies<\/span><span> at Boston University, published an article in the latest issue of &#8220;TI Observer,&#8221; a publication of the Taihe Institute, a Beijing think tank, which draws on his recently published book <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/2021\/11\/16\/heine-publishes-el-no-alieamiento-activo-y-aerica-latina\/\"><em>El No Alineamiento Activo y Am\u00e9rica Latina: una doctrina para el nuevo siglo<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(Active Non-Alignment and Latin America: A Doctrine for the New Century).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In his article, titled &#8220;Latin America and the Active Non-Alignment Option,&#8221; Heine discusses the need for Latin America to shift with the changing tides of a &#8220;Post Western World&#8221; and sets forth a strategy for the region expounded in his latest book: the Active Non-Alignment option. As he states, &#8220;the Active Non-Alignment option draws on the honorable tradition of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), of autonomy and independence from the big powers, based on the principles of political self-determination, mutual respect of sovereignty, non-aggression, non-interference in internal affairs, and equality.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The full article can be read on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.taiheglobal.org\/UpLoadFile\/files\/2021\/11\/30\/17331392629bbf239-a.pdf\">Taihe Institute&#8217;s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/profile\/jorge-heine\/\">Ambassador Jorge Heine<\/a><span>\u00a0is a Research Professor at the Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University.
