On July 30 and 31, 2021, the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future<\/a> – an affiliated center at Boston University\u2019s Pardee School of Global Studies – hosted a two-day virtual conference of panels and keynote addresses exploring the future of carbon pricing.<\/p>\n The first day featured a keynote address by\u00a0<\/span>Geoffrey M. Heal<\/a>, Professor of Social Enterprise, Columbia University Business School. The discussion focused on economic and technical research on carbon pricing measures required to meet the Paris Agreement goals of a 1.5\u00b0 to 2.0\u00b0 C rise in global temperatures.<\/p>\n The second day featured a keynote address by\u00a0<\/span>Matto Mildenberger<\/a>, Associate Professor of Political Science, University of California at Santa Barbara. The conversation focused on the social and political implications of our transition to a more sustainable future.<\/p>\n The conference was convened by\u00a0<\/span>Jim Stodder<\/a>, a Visiting Professor of the Practice at Boston University\u2019s Metropolitan College, and was the culmination of his work as a Pardee Center\u00a0<\/span>Faculty Research Fellow<\/a>.<\/p>\n The conferences keynote addresses can be viewed below.<\/p>\n
