The Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University joined other leading education and research organizations in partnering with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR)<\/a> in delivering an executive training program on Innovations in Science Diplomacy<\/em><\/a> (June 21-July 2, 2021).<\/p>\n

The high-level training program brought together participants from more than a dozen countries and a faculty and experts team of senior scholars and policy makers from multiple disciplines and institutional expertise. In addition to Dean Adil Najam<\/a>\u00a0who served on the core faculty for the course, Pardee School professors\u00a0Vesko Gar\u010devi\u0107<\/a>, Erik Goldstein<\/a>, Paul Webster Hare<\/a>,\u00a0Henrik Selin<\/a>, Mark Storella<\/a>, and Jack Weinstein<\/a>\u00a0led various sessions during the \u00a0two-week executive training.<\/p>\n

The goal of UNITAR’s Executive Summer Programme on Innovations in Science<\/em> Diplomacy<\/em><\/a>\u00a0is to triangulate education, research and leadership and to educate a next generation of leaders in the field of science diplomacy and technology, facilitate research with questions and data that generate actions with evidence and options that contribute to informed decision-making, and provide leadership with science-diplomacy networks that build common interests across our globally-interconnected civilization.<\/p>\n

The executive training is offered as a partnership between UNITAR and multiple Boston-based institutions including – in<\/span>\u00a0addition to the\u00a0Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University –<\/span>\u00a0Harvard Law School; Massachusetts Institute of Technology; John W. McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston; Science Diplomacy Center; and Swissnex in Boston.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
