On April 19, 2021, Ambassador <\/span>Jorge Heine<\/a>, Research Professor at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, appeared on Radio France Internationale<\/em> to discuss Chiles COVID-19 vaccination program.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In his remarks, Heine refers to the role played by extra-regional powers like China, Russia, and India in providing vaccines to Latin America during the pandemic. Heine has previously commented<\/a> on the nature of China-Chile relations \u00a0\u2013 China is Chile\u2019s number one source of trade and foreign investment \u2013 and how this relationship likely motivated the expedited sale of COVID-19 vaccines to the region.<\/span><\/p>\n
