Joshua Shifrinson<\/a>,\u00a0Assistant Professor of International Relations at the\u00a0<\/span>Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies<\/span> at Boston University, has been awarded a grant from the Frank Stanton Foundation<\/a> to conduct research examining the consequences of domestic political instability in nuclear-armed states for international security.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shifrinson was awarded the grant along with Dr. Christopher Clary<\/a>, Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University at Albany, State University of New York. The two-year project will be the first effort in several decades to rigorously assess the international consequences of political fragmentation in nuclear actors and comes at a time when the issue is at the forefront of strategy issues involving states such as Pakistan and North Korea.<\/p>\n

Joshua R. Itzkowitz Shifrinson<\/a>\u00a0is an Assistant Professor at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, where his teaching and research interests focus on the intersection of international security and diplomatic history, particularly the rise and fall of great powers and the origins of grand strategy.
