<\/a><\/p>\nAdil Najam<\/a>, Dean of the\u00a0<\/span>Francis S. Pardee School of Global Studies<\/a>\u00a0at Boston University, presented on Kashmir and India-Pakistan relations during a\u00a0Great Decisions<\/em>\u00a0lecture at\u00a0WorldBoston<\/a>\u00a0on May 29, 2020. The lecture was presented online in collaboration with\u00a0WGBH Forum,<\/i> which will be\u00a0releasing its\u00a0video shortly, and explored the relationship between India and Pakistan as well as what the future might hold for the burning hotspot of Kashmir.<\/span><\/p>\n Great Decisions<\/em><\/a>\u00a0is the largest nonpartisan public education program on international affairs in the world.\u00a0Created in the 1950s by the Foreign Policy Association, a sister World Affairs Council,\u00a0<\/span>Great Decisions<\/em>\u00a0engages citizens in learning about critical global issues and U.S. foreign policy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Dean Najam’s presentation discussed the Kashmir conflict, which he argued is\u00a0the core and defining issue in India-Pakistan relations. He described Kashmir as “the worlds oldest unresolved global conflict” and argued that the global failure in dealing with the conflict has been not just a\u00a0colossal failure of India and Pakistan, but of the world community itself.
